Lazy Days with Sadie

Yesterday we had quite a LAZY day. We attempted to go to church but after some problems with nursery we came home early. Most of you know that we are not big fans of our ward and we (meaning me, Mary) have been struggling with regular church attendance. I know, I know....its horrible. Anyways, we came home and Sadie was just exhausted so I decided to have a little sleep over in the front room. We got into our warm jammies because it had SNOWED again and gathered our treats to watch "A Bug's Life." We had a nice afternoon in our pj's and enjoyed movie after movie after movie. Charlie decided he needed to snap some pictures of his girls veggin' out.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Yesterday was my birthday and it was quite fun! Charlie surprised me with breakfast from Sill's Cafe...yummy! I had some flowers waiting in the kitchen once I was up and going. Charlie said we were going somewhere special for dinner and he had a babysitter to watch Sadie. He took me to The Roof in Salt Lake, it was spectacular! We had a very nice table right by the window looking over the Salt Lake Temple. Dinner was very yummy, they had the biggest chocolate covered strawberries I have ever seen! Afterwards, we strolled around Temple Square and I had fun snapping some pictures of the Temple.
We headed back home and when we pulled up to our house, our driveway and sidewalk were covered in birthday greetings drawn in chalk. Auntie Carrie and Uncle Brian helped Sadie draw me some pictures, very cute! We all had a delicious ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. It was a great birthday, thank you to everyone who made it a great day!

Happy Birthday Sadie and Happy Easter

This week has been so, so busy as we prepared for this crazy holiday weekend! Sadie had the good luck of her birthday being on Easter this year and we have had a great time the last couple of days. We had her birthday party yesterday with all our family and friends and it was so fun! We had an egg hunt and a yummy bunny cake. Sadie had a fantastic time with all her little friends and she got spoiled! We love and appreciate all our friends who were able to come to the party and celebrate Sadie.

Today, we woke up to find our Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny left for us. Sadie got more presents including the cutest new pair of shoes, Charlie got some new church clothes and I got "Enchanted." We had some breakfast and decided to let Sadie open up her birthday presents from us, which lead to more and more toys and a bigger mess. It was great to see her face as she opened each gift. We spent the afternoon at Grandma Joy's and came home to dye eggs. Sadie loved the bright colors although she thought that it was much more fun to throw the eggs.

Charlie took Sadie outside to play with her new carton of sidewalk chalk while I decided to straighten up and organize Sadie's closet. She had outgrown so much stuff and she had tons of winter clothes that needed to be put into bins and stored away. As I was folding her clothes up, I suddenly was crying. I was thinking about the day she was born, her as a baby and all the little special things that she has done up to this point. I know she has to grow up, but it seems like the time has gone so fast. I am so grateful for her in my life and for the wonderful opportunity to be a mother. Sadie has changed my life in more ways than one and has brought me so much happiness. Her big blue eyes warm my heart each day and her personality keeps me laughing.
Happy Birthday my Sadie Girl, I love you!

Disney on Ice

Last night we went to Disney on Ice featuring each of the Disney Princesses. It was awesome! We went to dinner at Hire's before and quickly made our way over to the arena. It was princess mayhem...I have never seen so many little girls dressed up in all their princess gear! We were on the very front row...we were level with the actual ice. We could have reached out and touched each of the characters. It was so much fun! The storyline was super cute and the skating and costumes were amazing. My good friend Jenni came along, as well as Carrie (my sister) and her little sister-in-law Kelli. It was a great night out with all the girls. We have had Disney overload this week!

Our DisneyLand Adventure!

Well, we are back from our fantastic adventures in California. We really had a super fun time! We spent two whole days at Disneyland riding as many rides as possible...Sadie was not afraid to try anything. We ran into many Disney characters and Princess Jasmine took Sadie for a little walk around her castle. We had dinner with the Princesses, which included Ariel, Belle, Princess Aurora, Snow White and Pocahontas. It was great fun and Sadie enjoyed being a princess herself. The highlight of our trip was our breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. It was amazing...Sadie got to sit and play with them for over an hour. They colored and played the drums together. It was so much fun to watch her excitement. We also went to LegoLand for a day and it was pretty cool too. Everything is made out of legos...amazing!

I am so grateful we took this trip together and it will always be something I will look back on and remember the special time we shared together as a family. I will always have fond memories of this trip and I hope Sadie and Charlie will too!

I brought my brand new camera on the trip and ended up taking almost five hundred pictures! We included our favorites in the slideshow. It was hard to narrow them down but I think I am going to make a photo book with all the pictures.

We are off like a prom dress....

It is finally here! We are getting ready to go to Disneyland. The bags are all packed and I just cannot wait. The warmer weather is going to be so nice especially after this winter. Beach...here we come! I dont think I will be able to sleep tonight....it feels like the night before Christmas. We are having a Hawaiian breakfast with Lilo and Stitch on Tuesday morning and having dinner with all the princesses on Wednesday night. Sadie got an adorable new dress to wear to dinner. It is going to be so much fun and a nice break from everything. I will take lots of pictures and post them as soon as we get back.

Our Little Bookworm

Tonight for FHE, Sadie and I went to the library and to dinner together. She was running around the house earlier yelling for "books, books, books!" We decided to return our old books and get some new ones. Sadie loves to step up to the counter and hand the librarian our library card, she even got a cute little bookmark. I am glad she has such a love for books and reading. We also checked out a Barney and Elmo video. We love the library!
