Are you Serious?

On Sunday, Sadie and I went to a baby blessing for one of my old high school buddies. Sadie is pretty good during sacrament, she will read books, play with her toys or color. We have taught her to fold her arms during the prayers and to say "amen" at the appropriate time (or so we thought). However, Charlie and I have discovered that she seems to do the craziest things or say the funniest things during sacrament. We spend most of our time busting a gut and getting those giggles that never stop. True to form, she had me laughing yesterday. When the baby blessing ended, Sadie's "amen" just didnt sound right. I decided to listen to her very closely during the other prayers. Here is what I heard during the next prayer:

Speaker: In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
The rest of the congregation: Amen
Sadie: The End

I thought we had the "amen" thing down but I obviously have some work to do.

Up in Smoke

Our Fourth of July was a very long but fantastic day! We started the day off at the Clearfield City parade which was quite the display. I have never been to a parade where there was so much skin showing...by this I mean watching participants go by who decided that the smallest amount of clothing was the way to go to celebrate the Fourth. Needless to say, I think we will be attending another parade next year. Sadie wasnt too sure of all the emergency vehicles with their sirens but she perked up as soon as she realized that candy was coming her way.
We spent most of the day relaxing in an air-conditioned home. Sadie had a nice long rest and woke up ready for the evening festivities. We had KFC for dinner and headed to the Clearfield City fireworks (the ONE thing in Clearfield which wasnt a disappointment). They were absolutely amazing! Sadie seemed to enjoy them but grew restless towards the end.

We then headed to Auntie Carrie's and Uncle Brian's house to do our own fireworks. We had a lot of fun especially with the sparklers!

Now, one thing that I failed to mention about our eventful day was a small altercation I had with a fellow parade goer. As many of you know, I have a real issue when people smoke around me and I seem to have "smoke radar." As many of you also know, I have a real issue with not being able to keep my mouth shut when these type of situations arise. As we were sitting waiting for the parade to start yesterday, my radar went off and sure enough there was a guy sitting behind us smoking. After a couple of minutes of inhaling the smoke, I just couldnt take it anymore. I whipped around in my seat and asked the guy if he really needed to be smoking so close to all of us. He just stared at me, murmured something and continued to finish his cigarette. IDIOT! I get so frustrated with people like this. Then, to make matters worse the same thing happened at the fireworks last night. We were all sitting enjoying the lovely works and a family in front of us decided to light up. ARGHHHH!
