Our Fourth of July was a very long but fantastic day! We started the day off at the Clearfield City parade which was quite the display. I have never been to a parade where there was so much skin showing...by this I mean watching participants go by who decided that the smallest amount of clothing was the way to go to celebrate the Fourth. Needless to say, I think we will be attending another parade next year. Sadie wasnt too sure of all the emergency vehicles with their sirens but she perked up as soon as she realized that candy was coming her way.
We spent most of the day relaxing in an air-conditioned home. Sadie had a nice long rest and woke up ready for the evening festivities. We had KFC for dinner and headed to the Clearfield City fireworks (the ONE thing in Clearfield which wasnt a disappointment). They were absolutely amazing! Sadie seemed to enjoy them but grew restless towards the end.

We then headed to Auntie Carrie's and Uncle Brian's house to do our own fireworks. We had a lot of fun especially with the sparklers!

Now, one thing that I failed to mention about our eventful day was a small altercation I had with a fellow parade goer. As many of you know, I have a real issue when people smoke around me and I seem to have "smoke radar." As many of you also know, I have a real issue with not being able to keep my mouth shut when these type of situations arise. As we were sitting waiting for the parade to start yesterday, my radar went off and sure enough there was a guy sitting behind us smoking. After a couple of minutes of inhaling the smoke, I just couldnt take it anymore. I whipped around in my seat and asked the guy if he really needed to be smoking so close to all of us. He just stared at me, murmured something and continued to finish his cigarette. IDIOT! I get so frustrated with people like this. Then, to make matters worse the same thing happened at the fireworks last night. We were all sitting enjoying the lovely works and a family in front of us decided to light up. ARGHHHH!

I hear ya! That is the worst! I have a little problem keeping my mouth shut too. Smoking stinks!!
We went to Clearfield parde too. We go every year 'cause my hubby & I both grew up going to that one, but it really is a little "WT".
Sounds like a fun day.
I cannot stand people who smoke in crowded events like that. It's so annoying! I probably would have said something too.
Summer brings out some "interesting" fashion choices. I wonder if people even look in the mirror when they leave the house.
I'm glad you guys had a great holiday. We miss you guys so much!
I was sad to hear that Clearfield's parade was not up to the standards we have enjoyed in the past. You skipped the carnival??? Mom was supposed to eat a sno cone for me. In my absence, traditions have obviously just been tossed to the wayside. Just kidding! I'm glad you had a fun day, except for the smoking.
Oh I forgot to tell you that we too enjoyed the bright fun of the sparklers. I even did my cartwheels with one in each hand. Brian's family was a bit alarmed due to the pregnant belly, but Leah was impressed.
I hear ya! There was a group who kept lighting up near us at our fireworks too! I'm not as brave as you to speak up though, so I usually just sit there and take it. So annoying!!!
Looks like you had fun!! It should be illegal for them to smoke in a crowd of people!! IT ISN'T FAIR TO THE REST OF US WHO DON'T WANT LUNG CANCER!
