Our Thanksgiving was wonderful! It was my first official Thanksgiving at our house. It was a lot of work but so much fun. Sadie was a huge helper and we enjoyed some girl time making lots and lots of pies. We had Charlie's parents over along with his uncles, aunt and cousins. Lots of laughs and lots of yummy food.
Thanks to Pinterest, we found some cute decorations and a Thankful Tom Turkey.
The decor...

We were on pie duty and Sadie was so excited to help. We made three pumpkin pies, two chocolate dream whip pies, one authentic banana creme pie, six mini kid size banana creme pies and an apple one. Sadie's favorite is the apple pie. She loves to peel and cut up the apples and crimping the crust edges together. I don't know what I would do without her help. The pictures are from my phone so they aren't the best quality.
We woke up on Thanksgiving and watched the Macy's Day parade, Brigham loved the Buzz Lightyear balloon and Sadie flipped out when the Diary of the Wimpy Kid balloon went by.
After lounging around all morning, we had to get serious and get the house cleaned and make a relish tray, veggie tray and a cheese ball. I introduced Sadie to the job of putting cheese on celery sticks. It was my favorite thing to do growing up, I was hoping she would like it too, but she said it was too messy for her. She still looks cute making them though.
I didnt get any pictures of the actual meal because I was trying to enjoy the yumminess and maintain the kiddos, however I was able to snap one of Brig digging into his banana creme pie.

This year has had its ups and downs, but we have so much to be thankful for. Its easy to focus on the negative or the things you want instead of seeing whats right in front of you. I am so lucky to have the people in my life that I do. My relationship with Charlie and my kids is the best it has ever been. We have a beautiful house, a new yard and the beginnings of our basement. We have painted rooms, upgraded fixtures and are looking forward to some kitchen remodeling. We have the best friends and our neighbors are like family. Charlie has three amazing jobs, preparing him to receive his LCSW in the spring. We have two beautiful kids who are healthy and so smart. We have been blessed beyond measure and are grateful for special days to remember all of these things.

Happy Turkey Day!
