Families Are Forever

I am writing today out of a need for normalcy than for anything else. I never realized before how much blogging was part of my daily life and it has been some time since my last post, which is partly due to a tremendous loss within our family. On August 28th, my dad passed away very unexpectedly. He had battled diabetes over the last month or so and was just unable to get it under control. Sadly, his body could not fight this horrible disease and I lost one of my most precious friends. While, my heart aches during this time, I take comfort in the beautiful plan of salvation. I know that I will one day see my father again and I look forward to that glorious day.

I also want to thank the countless prayers that have been offered in behalf of my family. I have felt the Spirit so strongly since his passing. I appreciate all the help and support we have been given, the magnitude of which could never be expressed.

A quick update about what else is going on in our lives. Charlie started Graduate School and is doing fantastic. He loves his classes and has been given incredible learning opportunities. Sadie also started preschool and loves her "Panda Bear" class. Her first couple of days were a bit rough, but she nows gets excited to go to school with her lunch pail which she lovingly calls her purse. She is a bright little girl who gives me strength each and every day.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my aunt to cancer on August 6, then my grandpa to cancer on September 5. I can't say I know exactly what you are going through, but my prayers are with you and your family.

ps:
Sadie was so much fun to watch. Her and Porter were pretty much on a sugar high all night.

Even after all we know - about eternal families - it is still hard when we lose someone close. But the plan our Father in Heaven has for us is something of great comfort. My heart and prayers go out to you & your family, Mary.

Mary,I am sorry to hear about your loss. Isn't it great to have the knowledge that you will see him again? Sometimes I wonder how people who don't know this can go on when something like this happens to them. Families are Forever, and it is such a relief to know that. Thanks for reminding me of that!

Mary you have such a strong family. I am very sad about your dad too. He would want you to get back in the swing of things.

It's cute that Sadie calls her lunch box a purse.

Mary, I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a father is a very difficult experience, and even though mi was almost 16 years ago, I still remember it vividly. I still remember him every day, and it doesn't ever go away but it does get easier. The gospel definitley helps in knowing that Families Really are Forever. There are many times as I go through important times in my life that I can still feel my dad with me, and I'm sure yours is watching over you. If you need to talk or need anything, please let me know. You are in my prayers. I love you guys!

Mary, I keep checking your blog meaning to leave you a comment, but every time I can't think of anything to write. When my youngest brother past away, there wasn't much anyone could say to me that made things better at the time. I just felt really lucky/blessed to know that I could be with him again. I couldn't imagine loosing someone you love without that knowledge.

Mary I honestly do not know what to say other than I am so sorry for your loss! I never did get a chance to meet him, but I know you thought the world of him! Please don't hesitate to call if you need anything and I know you still have my number because every once in awhile I get a call from Sadie :-) But don't worry I enjoy it! I get it all the time since my name begins with A!

I am sorry, also, to hear about your dad! Way to go on keeping such a good perspective on life and have an eternal family. The Spirit can do amazing things during trials and times of loss. I feel bad that I didn't find that out until just now. It looks like you have a great support system through the internet and I'm sure with your family as well. I will keep your family in my prayers!
