Not so Bummer Summer

Summer is officially over! No more late nights, swimming and running through sprinklers, bbqs and snow cones and playing all day. Routines and early bed times are back and fall is just around the corner.
At the beginning of the summer we decided to make our "Not so Bummer Summer" list (thank you Judy Moody for the idea). We got the poster board, markers and crayons and Sadie just started saying what she wanted to do or places she wanted to visit. I wrote everything down (even the crazy ideas that I knew wouldn't happen this summer) and we hung it up in our kitchen. Every time we did something on the list, Sadie got to check it off. We ended up having a very "not bummer" summer and created lots of good memories.
Here is a glimpse of our summer adventure...
Picnics at the park

Lots of visits to the library

The Zoo
We went on a trip to Rexburg to go to Bear World. It was so much fun and Sadie got to feed the baby cubs. Brigham thought the bears were pretty cool.

In the car searching for bears!

We spent a LOT of our summer working on our yard. We had to grade it, weed it, bring in soil, put in the sprinkler system and lay sod. We did everything ourselves, with help from our neighbors. It really was so much work but so worth it to finally have grass. Next spring, we are going to have some fun projects to "spruce" everything up.

More summer adventures...
Sadie was in two parades and we went to numerous others

We went on many camping trips and mini road trips. We found a new favorite spot, Downata Hot Springs in Downey, Idaho. It was awesome and we even got dad to go down the scary slides.

Our checked off list...
We are sad to see summer ending, but we are looking forward to some fun adventures in the fall!
