and another one bites the dust....

Well, I have finally succumbed to the sickness that has been wrecking havoc at our house. Charlie and Sadie started showing symptoms of the flu on Sunday and it just got worse from there. I wont go into all the yucky details, but we have had a very "explosive" week!!! Sadie has been going stir crazy because she missed school all week and her gymnastics class and hasn't really left the house. Charlie missed some of his classes and wasn't able to go to his internship. Governor Huntsman was actually visiting Catholic Community Services (where Charlie's internship is at) this week and we thought it would be best not to share the germs with him even if he is a Republican. I have been able to do a lot of homework and reading. We have watched a lot of movies, done a lot of napping, downed Sprite by the liter and Sadie has enjoyed taking extra long warm baths. It looks like the worst is behind us and we hope we will be back to normal soon.

We also went back for Sadie's check-up on her ears and they look great. The problems are most likely associated with allergies, so we just have to give her nasal spray each night.

Highlights of our Week

And yes, Sadie is shirtless in the sleeping pictures, she has refused to wear clothes all week. We also have been using food coloring to color her bath water fun and funky colors hence the lovely blue.
UPDATE: Sadie was wheezing really bad this morning, so we ran her to the Insta-care and she has RSV!!! Seriously!?!? She had to do a breathing treatment in a oxygen tent for almost an hour , that was a wonderful experience! We are now home, tired and ornery. She will be doing breathing treatments here at home for the next week, so it looks like another week of hell is inevitable.

Oh...having a sick kid is the absolute worst! I'm still laughing about your "explosive" week. Glad you're all on the mend. This has been such a long winter- Peyton and I are going stir crazy too. I can't wait to go to the park again!

I hope that you all get well soon. I am glad that you did not go out and pass it on. Too many people do that, and I for one do not want to catch anything!

I'm so glad we've been able to avoid that flu bug. I'm sure I just jinxed myself and we'll come down with it before the day is through. I hope everyone feels better soon! It's so awful when kids are sick...I hate being confined to home so I'm sure it's MUCH worse for a tiny body who is used to so much activity.

That sucks! Poor kid. Make sure to give Sadie Baby our love. Call if you need anything...SERIOUSLY! Oh, and I think it was really nice of you guys to consider the health & wellbeing of Gov. Huntsman - even if he is a Republican. Ha!

Oh no! Sorry you guys have been so sick! About 10 mins into sacrament mtg today, we smelled something AWFUL! I started looking around thinking, "EEW, I wonder whose kid THAT is!" Then Bryan says, "Um...what's on the back of Hannah's dress?" Yeah, we had an "explosive" day too!

Oh, no. Both girls went to the hospital with the 'explosives'. They both ended up getting dehydrated because they refuse to drink when they are sick. Both girls were in the hospital last year with RSV as well. I hope you do better than we have. Feel better soon!
Brooke had tubes put in when she was a year old. She still had a few ear infections after that, but the hardest part is that she is now speech delayed. They said that for a lot of her first year, everything she heard sounded like it was under water. So she never really babbled (not like how DaKoda does now. that's for sure.) she would cry, but never talk. At 18 months, the only words she said were mom, dad, car and that. DaKoda is probably up over 20 words already. All I can say is that it is better when they find it early. We are hoping that Brooke will be back on track 100% by Kindergarten. I know from experience though, it is definitely NOT fun while you are going through it. I hope the best for you and Sadie. If you have any questions, let me know. If you worry at all about Sadie's hearing, get her tested. I can get phone numbers and names if you need.
