Seriously...

But can we get another pair please???

Today Sadie had an appointment with her new ENT. Her pediatrician has been concerned about her ears and the lack of help the tubes have provided. When Sadie was about eight months she had her first set of tubes put in. However, the tubes werent working properly and one was completely scabbed over so they had to replace those. In January of last year she had her tonsils and adenoids removed and things seemed to get a bit better.
Sadie has had two ear infections in the last three months and the tubes just dont seem to be working, so off we went to the new guy to see if he could figure out what the deal was. He was fantastic and Sadie seemed to like him. He was talking to her about her cat (she has this toy cat that our friend Anya gave her that she carries around EVERYWHERE, even to church) and Sadie sat and chatted with him about her kitty. Well, we got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that only the left one is problematic and the doc thinks it may all be linked to allergies. So, we now have a lovely nasal spray we have to give her every day for the next two weeks. As far as the bad news, the ENT was concerned that the tubes are old but have not started to come out. I guess that most ear tubes last about a year and depending on the strength/health of the eardrum, the tubes should get pushed out as time goes by. Sadies have not moved at all, so her eardrums arent up to par I guess. Who knew that ears could be such a pain!
We have to go back in two weeks to see if the infection is clear in the left ear so the ENT can get a better look at the tube. If things arent looking good in that area, another tube will have to be put in. Hopefully, the new medicine will help out and we can have an uneventful cold season.

An uneventful cold season would be a blessing. I hope the tubes do what they are supposed to do.

I'm sorry she is having problems again, poor girl. Kaden had similar problems luckily the tubes did wonders and he has not had an ear infection since. I hope everything goes well and they can figure out what to do to fix the problem. Good luck!

That is the worst! I am so sorry! Hopefully things will get squared away without another surgery. Brecky had ear problems but once we got tubes things were much better. I wish that was the case for you! It's hard watching your kids be sick :-(
