We just got back from a wonderful week in California. We took the kiddos to Disneyland and it was by far the best vacation ever. It was our first official "long" road trip and the kids did great. We were able to get killer deals on hotels in Las Vegas for the trip there and back which helped to break up the trip.
I have always wanted to visit Disneyland during Halloween time, there was something more magical there with all the pumpkins and decorations. It was so fun watching Brigham experience everything for the first time, we took him on the Nemo ride the first morning there and I got a little emotional watching his face light up in the submarine as he watched everything. Sadie was a dare devil and went on every ride she could, even the Tower of Terror and California Screamin'. She loved the new Ariel ride and was obsessed with Carsland (that will be a whole new post...one word: AMAZING!)
I took LOTS of pictures...so I apologize for the picture overload. These are my favorites from the first two days there.
Brigham's 1st official ride at Disneyland...NEMO!

I LOVE Sadie's face in this one...so priceless!
Being silly with Woody
The kids were troopers the whole trip. California was having an unusual heat wave while we were there and to say it was hot would be an understatement. We would get there first thing in the morning and stay until they closed. Brigham would take a nap in the stroller during the day and Sadie never complained or whined about the weather or being tired. We got some serious miles on our new sneakers and got to ride every ride we wanted to, some multiple times. Our new favorite ride is Soarin' California. We took advantage of the Fast Pass system as well as the Parent swap system. Disneyland will let a parent ride with a child while another one waits with kids that cant ride due to height restrictions or other reason and then give them a pass to give to the other parent who waited to go straight to the front of the line. It was a lifesaver and so nice to be able to go on all the rides with Sadie that Brigham couldn't without having to wait in line twice.
